Board Game Mondays

Brass: Pittsburgh shows us how to successfully launch a new game?

The new trailer and crowdfunder for Brass: Pittsburgh recently launched here.

The crowdfunder set itself a target of $500,000. It hit this target within 45 minutes, and currently stands at nearly $7,000,000. This led me to question: what can we learn from this successful crowdfunding launch that we could potentially use when we come to launching our own game? (Likely Lapita Discovery, see the Games in Development website page).

After some deep research I think I've been able to distil the success of the Brass: Pittsburgh launch down into one key factor, that hopefully we can imitate to ensure similar success for our first launch. All we would need to do would be to first release, manufacture and distribute the highest rated board game of all time, and then release our game as the sequel! Amazing no-one else has thought of this - let me know in the comments if you think this will work!
